From a Scottish League Cup final to Wembley Play-off final and league promotions, Roland Edge had a successful professional career as a player before moving into management.
His career began as a defender at Gillingham, where he made 125 league and cup appearances, reaching an FA Cup quarter final and winning the Wembley play-off final that saw the team promoted to the First Division for the first time.
He signed for Hibernian in 2003, making 20 league appearances and playing in the Scottish League cup final.
Roland joined Hull City in 2004, appearing 16 times to become part of the team promoted to the Championship.
A long-term injury saw him move into non-league where he played for Folkestone Invicta and Maidstone United.
He re-joined Folkestone Invicta as a player-coach and then became their assistant manager and later, joint manager, in 2022.
Roland joined Dartford as assistant manager in May 2024.
