It’s been a busy start to the season for the grassroots youth section. We have over 400 children registered now, which is a huge accomplishment.

Our big successes so far have been our U16 JPL girls, they’ve had some great results and the U14s girls, who have had a great start to the season. We also have an U10 girls’ team this season as well, who have had a good start to their football journey at the Club.

The U16s Kent Youth League team started their league campaign really well. We have Kent Youth League teams from U13 upwards – which are very competitive leagues to be in.

The girls’ development team – run by George Kingdon – has started really well. Many of the girls are part of the new Girls’ Academy, which means they are representing the Club twice, with games for the Academy on Wednesdays and matches for the development team on Sundays.

The idea is that the development side gives some of the girls that are ready, extra game time against teams often consisting of older players.

Our Selkent teams go from U7s to U16s, they’ve played lots of games and have started really well.

All our teams now have their new kits, which look great.

We are looking to start a new boys’ U7s and U8s team and a girls’ U9s team, in January. The U7s is school Year 2, U8s is school Year 3 and U9s, school Year 4.

The Club has fantastic facilities and provides numerous experiences and opportunities within the Club.

If whole teams are looking for a new challenge, or if you are a parent with a child who might be interested, please contact me on dcorley@dartfordfc.com.

Our Mini Darts sessions on a Saturday morning are looking for new players.

Children will learn the basics of football and have plenty of fun, with a pathway into Dartford youth teams if they should so wish, as they get older.

Mini Darts is for ages 4-6, costs £3, lasts from 9am to 10am on a Saturday and takes place on the mini pitches at the Club.

I want to finish up by giving a big thank you to all of the managers and coaches who give up their time every week, there’s a lot of work that goes in behind the scenes to get the season off to a good start and we are really happy with how things are shaping up for the season.
