Dartford Whites made it two wins in two with another strong team performance, this week.
The opening 15 minutes saw both sides create chances as they looked to find their feet in the match.
But an excellent passage of play from the Whites saw them take control with Jeev Benning teeing up Richie Atkins who rifled it into the back of the net.
The side went into the half-time break 1-0 up, with the message to the players to maintain the same energy levels for the second half.
However, the team didn’t just maintain the levels, they stepped them up, to put in a second half performance that had manager Ben Greenhalgh singing the team’s praises.
The side dominated, pressing well and preventing Maidenhead from getting out of their half, with the second goal coming around the 60-minute mark.
Ola Thomson made a deep cross from the left into the path of Daniel Atta who headed the ball in across the goal for a well worked move.
The team continued to play with the same intensity for the remainder of the game, to finish strongly and take all three points.
Kai Jeffrey was Man of the Match for an excellent defensive performance at the back.
Ben said: “Their energy and effort is one of the best I’ve seen, not just from an academy level, but from a team perspective. Maidenhead are a really good team, but especially in the second half, we didn’t give them any time to settle at all.
“A lot of fans were watching and everyone was saying how good they looked. They hunted and pressed so well, they couldn’t get out of our half.
“Hugo Taylor was rested as he had a slight injury, with Seun Konu coming in, but the team’s drive and energy levels didn’t dip at all.”
Dartford Reds won 4-3 against Hertford Town Whites, with the side 4-1 up at one stage and Karolis Petrutis bagging all four in a comfortable win. Dartford Yellows, meanwhile, beat Dover 3-0 away.
Ben added: “It was Karolis’ first match with us after training with us last year. We’ve now got him in on a scholarship – he’s an out and out centre forward and had a great game.
“It was a good performance from the Reds, we are still trying to work out the teams for the Reds and Yellows, but it’s a great week for all the teams. You work hard all week in training and while winning isn’t the be-all-and-end-all for us, it’s great for the boys to get the rewards after all they do and are continuing to do.”
