Darts Women Battle Past Richmond & Kew Women To Reach Third Round Of League Cup
L&SERWFL League Cup Second Round, played on Sunday, 9th November, 2025.
Darts Women began their defence of the L&SERWFL League Cup with a trip to the capital to take on Richmond and Kew FC Women.
The visitors started brightly and were ahead early in the first half. In the fourth minute, Meghan McKeag with a fine cross from the left, found Lizzie Adams in the box. The Darts midfielder fired home with an emphatic finish from close range to put the Darts ahead.
The side continued to create opportunities as the half went on. The best of the chances came in the 30th minute, when Mya Lewis-Powell made a determined run down the right and shot on goal, with a smart save by the keeper.
The second half began similarly to the first, as the team extended its lead inside the first five minutes. In the 49th minute, Mya Lewis-Powell got in behind the Richmond defence and took her chance with a smart finish from close range to put the Darts firmly in control of the cup tie.
The visitors sealed their place in the next round midway through the second half. In the 67th minute, an Abbey Davies free kick from just inside the Richmond half bounced in the box and past the keeper into the top corner of the goal.
The side continued to dominate the tie and went close to adding to the goal tally late on. In the 74th minute, an Abbey Davies cross deep into the box found Amina Hanif. The Darts forward headed towards goal, but it went just past the post.
