We have taken on a new member of staff who has started at Oakfield Primary. This came off the back of Elliot Bradbrook’s visit through us, last year. They liked what we are all about and asked to hear more about our after school provision and now we are working there full-time.
We hosted three tournaments in September which will determine the schools that will represent Dartford in the Kent finals. Sedley’s Primary won the small schools competition; Wilmington won the boys’ tournament for all the schools in Dartford and Bean Primary won the girls’ tournament. They won the Girls’ FA Cup last year and are doing very well! Well done to all the schools that took part.
We have bought in a specialist youth worker Neil Relf. We are looking to continue the work we carried out in the summer engaging with the local youth in the community and are looking for a suitable venue to do some youth engagement work in certain areas on an evening.
We are the only club in the country that delivers the Barclays Girls’ Programme, so George Boulton is going to St George’s Park next week. This will fund things like International Women’s Day or the Girls’ League, so we’ll see what comes from the meeting.
September is always a slower month as the schools get back into the swing of things. On to October!
