Manager George Kingdon paid tribute to his team’s work ethic after they made it four wins in four league matches with a 5-0 win at UPS Storm, this week.

The team started slowly, but were  still able to create several chances – although couldn’t find the back of the net. However, the positives signs were there and they were able to calm the nerves.

It wasn’t long before one of those chances were converted through one of the new recruits – Ellie Sterling – Taffs rolling the ball back for Stirling about 40-yards out for her to hit a screamer.

They made it 2-0 before the break through Isabella Taffs, for the 6th time this season, through a good move straight from the training ground.

The second half saw the team make more of the chances count after changing formation, allowing the team to dominate the ball and space. They scored three more through Ellie Ford, Hannah Mclaughlin and Olivia Ajose.

George said: “Our work rate was great again. In and out of possession the girls ran hard. It’s a bare minimum I ask week in, week out and they deliver. We dominated possession and played with heart.

“We were nervy at the start but had created four or five chances within the opening minutes to show there was no messing around today and we wanted to show why we are currently top.

“We changed formation and really made the possession count in the second half. Dominating the ball, space and in our individual duels.

“It was a really pleasing performance, and even when we start slow we are still able to get positive results. It puts us top of the league which is great to walk away with.”
