Terry plays for Bexley, who recently made the headlines after winning the WFA National Cup in Nottingham.

And his silky skills and goal-scoring form saw him selected for England in October’s international tournament in Spain, where he will compete against the likes of Brazil, France and Japan.

The England team is sponsored by Kicking Cancer, something close to the heart of Terry who is battling prostate cancer himself. While he describes his cancer as stable, he is currently undergoing treatment.

He said: “I’m really happy to get the call up. Football and Dartford have given me a purpose, with all that has been going on with my illness. This is an amazing surprise and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Partner Sarah Cole, who Terry co-manages Dartford U-11 and U-12 girls’ teams with, alongside Bexley Ladies walking football team, plays for Bexley and Arsenal walking football teams, although is currently out of action after suffering a broken leg.

Terry takes part in a warm up match on 9th October versus England Over 70s team and leaves on 23rd October for the three-day tournament which we will provide updates for.

Good luck Terry from everyone at DFC!
