The Darts were up and running after just six minutes when Olly Box’s cross caused mayhem inside The Ambers’ area, enabling Eddie Dsane to poke the ball home to score his fifth goal of the season.
Box then came close himself two minutes later, when his strike from distance deflected safely into Preston Edwards’ hands.
The visitors responded shortly after with a good short spell, but Jeremiah Pinder put in an excellent block to snuff out Sam Granville’s strike (16), before Eddie Dsane came agonisingly close at the other end following good work by Olly Box (25).
Preston Edwards then pulled off a brilliant save to thwart Callum Jones in a one-on-one situation (30), before Eddie Dsane had to leave the field to be replaced by Samir Carruthers four minutes later.
The visitors’ ability to get back into the game took a severe blow when Darion Furlong made a rash challenge on the advancing Jeremiah Pinder. Having already been booked, the Cheshunt player left referee Mr Marcin Indyk with no alternative than to show a second yellow and red card (37).
A brilliant cross from Samuel Okoye was met by Olly Box, only for the latter to see his strike deflected behind (42). That was followed by goalkeeper Edwards saving well from George Whitefield (45), as the Darts finished the half strongly.
The game was all but sealed soon after the restart, when Olly Box was sent clean through and allowed to race clear before firing in his fifth league goal of the season (48).
The young starlet then forced another save out of the Cheshunt goalkeeper, after Callum Jones and Samir Carruthers had combined well (67).
The excellent Samuel Okoye then forced a corner, before Joe Tennent saw his header fly narrowly over the crossbar (71) as Dartford looked to put the game completely out of The Ambers’ reach.
Ady Pennock moved to make his second and final substitution of the afternoon, with Dan Smith coming on to replace Jeremiah Pinder after 77 minutes.
The visitors, meanwhile, did rally soon afterwards as they tried desperately for a way back into the game. However, they failed to create anything worthy of testing goalkeeper Jonny Henly, who’d go on to register a first clean sheet for Dartford.
In fact, it was the hosts who came closest to increasing their advantage when Denzelle Olopade’s strike was blocked by a defender (85), before Dan Smith forced another good save out of Edwards a minute later.
Samuel Okoye’s performance earned him a deserved Man of The Match award, on an afternoon which saw the Darts put on an excellent display to win comfortably.
