DFC is delighted to announce the signing of defender Sam Smith.
The left-footer signs from Maidstone Utd, having spent some time on loan last season at Folkestone and Ashford.
Sam joined Maidstone as part of their U-23 team from Rochester City, eventually making his debut for the first team in the Kent Senior Cup quarter final and starting in the final, as Maidstone lifted the trophy.
Sam, 21, has been one of the trialists over the summer.
Ady Pennock said: “He caught our eye last season when we played Folkestone and he was on loan there, and when his name came up over the summer we invited him on trial.
“He’s had a very good pre-season and has a first-class attitude. He’s also a local lad, living 10 minutes away.
“He’s young and has some things to learn, but he’s comfortable on the ball, can put a tackle in, has a lovely left foot and has great potential.
“He’s deserved this contract and I’m delighted to have him in as part of the squad.”
Welcome Sam, from all at DFC!
