Dartford Football Club is proud to announce a new partnership with hospice charity ellenor.
The three-year collaboration will see the club support the charity’s aims of raising awareness of the essential services it provides for local people and their families after a life-limiting diagnosis.
Hospice charity ellenor provides inpatient and at-home care for people with life-limiting illness, as well as a range of wellbeing and therapeutic services, such as play and music therapy, and counselling.
Based in Gravesend, it also serves people in Dartford and surrounding areas too – and not just the patient, but their families, if they need support.
ellenor recently unveiled a new Wellbeing Centre at the main hospice site in Gravesend, whichincludes a sensory room for children, a fitness studio and even a small cinema room, plus rooms for clubs, counselling, hobbies and learning. (where is this?).
ellenor’s café, also at the Gravesend hub, was also revamped earlier this year and is open to all, not just those going to the hospice. Anyone can drop in, Monday to Friday, from 10am – 2pm, to enjoy delicious lunches, cakes, teas and coffees. (where is this?)
ellenor’s Head of Income Generation Sue Piper, said: “This three-year commitment from Dartford FC is a real game-changer for ellenor, helping us to encourage more local people to support and use our services.
“It’s a common misconception that a hospice is only for use by people facing their final days – but we’re so much more than that and we invite people to come in and see.
“We’re here not just for patients, but their families too, to help them experience as many moments of happiness as possible in the time they have left together. Our facilities and events are open to all – not just those receiving our care. Through Dartford FC’s generosity and support, we hope to spread the message throughout our local area that ellenor is a joyful place for the whole community.”
A spokesman for Dartford Football Club said: “We are delighted to partner with ellenor, who do some amazing work in the community and beyond.
“Not only do we welcome the charity as our new Community Stand Sponsor, but we will be supporting their initiatives in order to help raise awareness and support the services it provides.
“Please keep an eye out for collection pots around the ground where you can donate towards their cause, while posters with QR codes will enable supporters to donate if they do not have any spare change to hand.
“We look forward to growing our relationship over the next three years.”
